FAQs About Working With Lorilyn

Q. I’m not sure I have time for this. How much time does this work take?

A. That’s up to you and what you are seeking in our work together. I find that meeting at least twice a month creates the deepest opportunity for integration and momentum in the work. Some clients come once a month; others come every week.

I generally don’t work with clients who aren’t ready to make a commitment of at least six to twelve months. I find that clients who do so are able to really sink into the work, experiencing a commitment to self — and receiving needed support — when the work becomes challenging, which is of course when growth really happens. I've supported clients who've received what they were seeking in six months and I've had clients whom I've accompanied on their spiritual journey for over a decade.

Sessions typically last between 60 and 90 minutes.

Q. What if I’m not sure this is right for me?

A. Uncertainty is an invitation to exploration!

Why not be brave and kind to yourself? Apply for an exploratory session. You can explore your uncertainty, learn more about the work, and see if you and I are a fit for future exploration.

Q. How much does it cost?

A. This varies depending on duration, frequency, and type of work you’d like to do.

We’ll directly discuss cost in your exploratory session. If the cost of this investment brings up discomfort for you, know that I welcome that warmly. Money matters, in particular, are often tender and powerful portals for our own healing and transformation. Apply for an exploratory session and give yourself the space to explore that discomfort.

Q. Are you a Christian? What if I don’t know what I believe, or don’t identify as a Christian?

A. Yes. I was raised in a Christian home and continue to identify as a Christian. That said, I gladly serve people from all belief systems, trusting that Divine Presence and activity in one's life is not dependent on subscribing to particular doctrines or dogmas. I find that the longings and dynamics of the soul are held in common, no matter what we call ourselves or how we language the Divine. I’m here in service of your soul.

Q. What happens in a session?

A. A session’s rhythm and content varies a great deal according to what best serves each individual, although most begin with a time of centering, which can include a guided meditation, lectio divina, finger labyrinth, or simple silence.

From there, we will attend to whatever is present for you. This can include savoring what has been sweet, bringing compassion to something that hurts, exploring something that is not yet clear. We may begin our work together with the sacred story of your life, or we may begin by addressing discomfort or aliveness you feel in your body. Either way, we will always be led by the direction of the Spirit.

Sometimes I will ask questions, reflecting back what I’m hearing, or offering a little bit of teaching. Sometimes I will invite you to notice how thoughts or feelings are present in your body and help you to turn toward the discomfort in your body with breath, compassion, and curiosity. Mostly, I will be listening for the sacred wisdom already present within you.

The closing of our session may include a prayer, blessing, or simple naming aloud of one’s new awareness, feelings, or intention moving forward.

Q. I don’t live near you. Can we still work together?

A. Absolutely! We can meet via phone or via Zoom video conferencing. Some clients actually prefer to meet this way. I have served people in various countries and continents.
